Vipps Onboarding Guide

? Requirements

Before you can use Vipps, make sure you meet the following requirements:

  1. You have an active Mondido account.

  2. You have a Norwegian organization number (only companies registered in Norway are eligible).

  3. You have a Norwegian bank account to receive payouts.

  4. You have access to the Vipps Business Portal.

Note: If you already have a Swedish Mondido account and plan to use Vipps for a Norwegian Shopify storefront (NO language version), please contact Mondido support with your Norwegian organization number.


? Who Can Use Vipps MobilePay?

Here's a quick overview of availability based on where your company is registered:

Sweden ❌ Not available Swedish companies can't use Vipps MobilePay
Denmark ✅ Denmark only MobilePay for Danish consumers
Finland ✅ Finland only MobilePay for Finnish consumers
Norway ✅ Norway & Sweden Vipps for Norwegian and Swedish consumers

When creating your Vipps eCommerce sales unit, make sure to select Mondido as the Sales Unit provider.


? Technical Information We Need

If you already have a Vipps agreement, please send us the following:

  • MSN (Merchant Serial Number)

  • Client ID

  • Client Secret

  • Subscription ID

These details can be found in the Vipps Business Portal, or you can get them by:

  • Contacting Vipps Business Support, or

  • Adding Mondido as a partner in your Vipps portal (recommended)

If you don’t have a Vipps agreement yet, let us know and we can help get you in touch with the right person at Vipps.


?️ Shopify Setup

Once everything is configured, follow these steps in your Shopify admin:

  1. Enable the "Mondido" payment icon (Shopify requires at least one logo to be active).

  2. Note: Vipps logo is not yet available in Shopify.

  3. Use Checkout Manager to rename the payment method to something like "Card or Vipps".


✅ Final Notes

  • If you're unsure how to retrieve your credentials from Vipps or want us to handle the technical setup, just add us as a partner in the Vipps portal.

  • Don't forget to double-check your payout setup in Vipps to make sure you're linked to the correct Norwegian bank account.
